Dear Parents and Guardians, 

Welcome back! Onalaska School District is pleased to inform you that School Meals will be available to all students at no cost. No application or paperwork is required to participate in this program.

Pre K-5 is a “Breakfast After the Bell” school. This means that Pre-K through 5 students will eat in the classroom after the school day begins. If your child misses the classroom breakfast, they may stop by the kitchen and pick up breakfast on their way to class.

Middle and High School students have multiple breakfast choices. School breakfast helps bridge the gap between when children leave home and when they have lunch. 

The school meals are kid-friendly and meet the recommended dietary guidelines for healthy growing children. Every day, there are at least 3 entrée choices for lunch. Each Week’s K-8 Menu* contains (at least): ½ cup of Dark Green Vegetables, ¾ cup Red/Orange Vegetables, ½ cup of Legumes/Beans, ½ cup of Starchy Vegetables, ½  cup of other/more Vegetables, 2 ½ cups of Fruit, 8-10 oz. Meat/Meat Alternate Items, 8-10 oz. Whole Grain Rich Items and 5 cups of Milk. *The High School’s portions are larger.

Menus, Request for Special Dietary Needs, the School Wellness Policy, and other Child Nutrition Department information can be found under the Food Service tab on the district website.

Milk or Pacific Ultra Soy milk is included with school meals. Additional Milk, or milk without a school meal, can be purchased for $0.75. Water bottles are also available for $0.75. Money can be deposited in a student's SkyWard Food Service account. Payments can be made: Online in SkyWard Family Access or sent to the Food Service Office. Automated phone calls are sent twice a week, once charges are made.
