Onalaska Families:

A training occurred in our middle school yesterday without our knowledge, by a local training agency not connected with any law enforcement agency. As a result of that training materials were left behind that led to the district to believe that a potential threat existed. Out of an abundance of caution we evacuated the elementary and middle schools to the high school building and contacted law enforcement. We also made the determination to release students. Law enforcement and fire response was swift and thorough and it was determined that no threat existed. As students had already been released, we continued with that process. We are thankful for the patience shown by parents as we navigated this issue and worked to ensure that the safety of our students was our top priority. Most of all, we are thankful for our staff and our local law enforcement and fire agencies for their support.
