Thank You to Our Generous Donors! We are incredibly grateful to Interfor of Longview, WA, for their generous donation of a unit of lumber that will support our students for the rest of the school year as they build picnic tables and learn valuable hands-on skills. A big thank you as well to Sierra Pacific Industries, who will be donating two more units of lumber this June. In total, these three units of donated lumber are valued at approximately $5,000, and their impact will be felt across our school community. Thank you for investing in our students' learning and success!

Over spring break, Skills USA students hiked a total of 11 miles with 1,500ft elevation gain. The hike took place in Naches, Wa. The purpose of the trip was to build character and learn how to persevere through physical exhaustion. We were also on the lookout for antler sheds but did not find any. All the students did great! Over half of the hike was not on a trail. Students conquered steep hills and hillsides covered in boulders, loose rocks and dirt. These students demonstrated true grit and kept pressing on hour after hour. A short trip to Dairy Queen and Taco Bell in Yakima for dinner healed the scratches, bumps, and bruises acquired from the hike. A time in the snow on the top of white pass was also needed to ice the sore ankles.

๐Ÿ“ข Playground Construction Notice Weโ€™re excited to share that construction has begun on the new play shed on the playground! ๐Ÿšง While this is an exciting addition for our students, we want to emphasize that the construction area is off-limits for everyoneโ€™s safety. Unfortunately, over the weekend, some individuals moved the fencing that was put in place to secure the site. This is not permitted and creates a serious safety hazard. We kindly ask all parents and guardians to remind their children to stay away from the construction area at all times. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe as we work to improve our playground! ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

Hello everyone! The Observatory will be open tomorrow evening between 8:30 - 9:30 p.m. The goal is to open up after all building usage has ended and may stay open longer, depending on attendance and interest We should be able to view Jupiter, Mars, and the Orion Nebula. As in the past, please help spread the word about the opening. That is always greatly appreciated.
