Congratulations to Kaiyah Sandridge as she was honored WIAA Athlete of the Week last week for efforts in soccer and with the activities in the high school and community!
Onalaska sophomore Kaiyah Sandridge just scored her second hat trick against Ocosta, helping the Lady Loggers qualify for their fifth consecutive State Tournament. Sandridge has been on the varsity squad since her eighth-grade year and is presently the Lady Loggers' leading assist maker and scorer with 15 goals on the season. Kaiyah also had a goal and a key assist in the Loggers win versus Tonasket in the State Playoffs. She's a 4.0 student and ASB vice-president, organizing most of the dances and helping with assemblies at her school. She plays an integral role in helping with a Thanksgiving Food Drive (organized by Kate Zandell). She also had a key part in establishing a student study hall. Later this year Kaiyah has plans for organizing a Blood Drive on campus. Sandridge is a very gifted student-athlete but also very involved in her school and community.

Last night the Onalaska Volleyball team in a joint effort with Adna celebrated October Breast Cancer Awareness in style! Adna and Onalaska in an extraordinary display of sportsmanship and league collaboration presented members of the community pink carnations to honor their fight against this dreaded disease. In addition, the Ony girls have also been fundraising to contribute to the Susan G. Komen Fundraiser. It was a heart warming ceremony that reflected the character of our student-athletes. Congratulations Coach Gordon, Coach Stingley, Coach Jacoby and the Lady Loggers for making us proud!

Once again our student athletes represented us well at the 10th Annual Central 2B League Sportsmanship Summit. Each year Onalasks hosts over 100 student-athletes, coaches and athletic directors to discuss the role of sportsmanship in athletics and how to implement policies. Our league is a leader across the state of Washington in promoting sportsmanship and the value of it. Onalaska students under the leadership of our ASB President Jaycee Talley were Rock Stars! It was Logger Pride at its best!
